Hi you had submitted this image into the "for critique" folder of Love New Artists.  So I will take the liberty of presenting a critique.

If i were to critique just the photograph, it would be different, but taking you image and the concept that you have written, with my very basic understanding of french and a little help from online translation'

"Man, from birth, is caught between two illusions: one that prods him in the back and that is death, the other being the horizon of life that always receding."

Your art takes on a very different perspective and adds infinite meaning to it.

First let me take the image itself, and excludind the small vertical "rock" in the bottom left hand intersection of the thirds grid.

The image is perfectly composed, I like the separation of land and sky.  The formation of the clouds and how they lead you eye back to the horizon.  How you have layered the horizon and rocks horizontally and the horizontal lines of the shore and the sea blend very nicely with the horizontal formations in the cloud.  All very brilliantly put together .. vertical lines and horizontal lines taking ones eye and mind to the horizon.  The visual flow is perfect.

If anything the only visual irritant is the slight noise in the image.  But I see you took the image at 1/500 sec and iso 400.  So I guess the light was poor when you took it.  But often luck does not give us the perfect visual and the perfect light.  Perhaps setting the speed down to 1/60 ... which would still have been efficient with a16mm focal length of lens .. you could have improved the noise.

Then comes the rock ... That also becomes a primary point of visual focus.  The mind is drawn between the focal point of the lateral and vertical lines .. which at the center of the horizon and the rock.  This creates a visual tension contrary to conventional guideline for composition.

I struggled to understand this ...until I took the time translate the quotation / text with it, and then I thought BRILLIANT !! how marvelous.  It is, as if you had the quotation in your mind when you took this image.

A perfect combination of words and images ...
